OBD2 Data Link Connector Locations

OBD-2 is standardized "On Board Diagnostics" (OBD).  Unfortunately, not all data link connectors (DLC's) are found in a "standardized" location.  Actually, there are standards for such things, and DLC locations are covered in SAE J1962.

Most DLC's in vehicles produced after model year 2000 are in prefered locations  The favored area for the DLC is on the drivers side of the vehicle, under the dash between the center console and drivers door.  We see most diagnostic connectors located left of the steering column, close to the drivers door.
