Don't throw those old hacksaw blades away! Old saw blades can be ground down to make wonderful electrical terminal release tools.
What's different about hack saw blades is their metal composition. You couldn't shape something like this out of ordinary low carbon steel and expect it to last for more than one use without bending and breaking.
Saw blades are brittle, and may break unexpectedly.
Approved safety glasses with side shields or full face shield must be worn at all times when grinding or cutting.
Make sure all recommended guards and shields are in place and adjusted properly when using grinding and cutting equipment.
Dust masks should be worn when using abrasive materials for grinding.
Safety glasses should always be worn when using hand tools. This includes the use of any terminal release tools.
Terminal release tool should only be used on deenergized circuits. Not intended for use near high voltage.
